Why I create this ASVAB Academy

I'm a retired Army First Sergeant for over 22 years active duty. I mentored and coached thousands of young Soldiers to increase their GT Score after joining the military. After retiring from active duty service, I was an ASVAB instructor for Manufacturing Engineering Services (MES) for over a year at Fort Benning, Georgia. My specialty was Math Knowledge, Arithmetic Reasoning, Word knowledge, and Paragraph Comprehension

My method of instruction is based on a crawl, walk, run phase methodology. In order for you to have a better understanding of bigger math concept, first, you need to know the basic fundamentals such as adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing whole numbers and decimals.

I had an average of 40 to 50 students per class ranging from recent graduate high school students to working adults who left school a long time ago. Additionally, I had foreign students in my class as well every cycle. The cycle last about 21 days including weekends. I've had high graduation rate every cycle.

Prepare yourself for a better future

The military utilizes the Armed Forces Qualification Test (AFQT) four (4) subjects test to determine your AFQT score. You need to have a passing score of 31 or better.

1. Math Knowledge

The Mathematics Knowledge (MK) section of the ASVAB is designed to measure how well you understand and apply high school-level math concepts. The military uses it to assess your problem-solving ability and determine which jobs (Military Occupational Specialties or MOS/ratings/AFSCs) you may qualify for.

2. Arithmetic Reasoning

The Arithmetic Reasoning (AR) section of the ASVAB measures your ability to solve real-world math word problems. Unlike the Mathematics Knowledge section, which tests your knowledge of math concepts and formulas, Arithmetic Reasoning tests whether you can figure out which math to use in practical situations.

Word Knowledge

The Word Knowledge (WK) section of the ASVAB measures your vocabulary—specifically, how well you understand the meanings of words and can recognize synonyms. It's not a spelling or grammar test.

4. Paragraph Comprehension

The Paragraph Comprehension (PC) section of the ASVAB measures how well you read, understand, and interpret written information. It tests your ability to identify the main idea, locate specific details, draw logical conclusions, and understand the meaning of words or phrases in context.
